World Milk Day

World Milk Day

Every year on June 1 World Milk Day is observed. The campaign was initiated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to recognize the importance of milk. The day was first celebrated in 2001 all across the world.

  • Loaded with nutrients like protein, Vitamin A, B1, B2, B12, and D, potassium, and magnesium, it is believed to be much more nutritious than most beverages.
  • Milk has been recognized as an important part of our daily diet, across all cultures.
  • Be it in our daily cup of tea and coffee or in shakes, smoothies and ice cream, milk has numerous uses but is most often enjoyed alone. This is probably because milk is regarded as a complete meal.
  • Every day our cows graze slowly, while the world changes at an increasing speed. The member dairy farmers of FrieslandCampina take good care of their cattle.

  • A collaboration with the NY Times’ T-Brand Studio and MilkPEP, this short film takes us behind the scenes of how milk gets to tables around the country, from the cow to your glass. Shot on location at Silver Spring Farms and Byrne Dairy in Syracuse, New York.

Gourmet Kitchen

Last Sunday, I was feeling lazy to cook, so ordered from this new outlet The Gourmet Kitchen.

Gourmet Kitchen was born out of lack of options for a healthy home delivered food with great taste and effective packaging.  The Gourmet Kitchen creates Healthy Gourmet Food with the best ingredients which are made at their centralized kitchen.

Cuisine

They have multi-cuisines. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. They also cater for events, home delivery, and takeaways.

So, we ordered two varieties – Continental and Indian.  We started off the meal with having the fresh watermelon juice.

In the continental meal, we had ordered Grilled mahi avocado salsa, a whole grilled fillet of fish marinated in Lebanese Spices on a bed of fresh avocado and corn-based tomato salsa served with middle eastern rice and fresh coleslaw. It was delicious. The fish was well cooked.

The Indian Non-Veg meal had a choice of Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala with 2 pieces of Tandoori Roti accompanied with Rice and Indian Salad.

If you are a vegetarian, you can order for the Indian Veg Meal which has a choice of Butter Paneer or Paneer Tikka Masala with 2 pieces of Tandoori Roti served with Rice and Indian Salad.

Workout meal After a workout, you must try out their workout meal grilled Rosemary Chicken, Egg White Omelette accompanied with steamed vegetables and Fresh Juice or Smoothie. A perfect booster after your workout.

In addition to this, for the health and fitness enthusiast, they have a DIET BREAKFAST MEAL an Egg White Omelette with Chicken Sausage/ Hash Brown served with Salad accompanied with Fresh Juice.

Packaging

The packaging was excellent.

Finally, this is an ideal place if you want a gourmet/fine dine food at your doorstep. They deliver to your doorstep with great taste and packaging. This is an awesome place to order a gourmet food as they have used exotic ingredients to make it far better than other normal delivery places.
